As a developmental editor I will read your manuscript through once making general notes and basic line edits, then read it a second time taking much more detailed notes. Afterward I will compile my notes, examining the elements (narrative structure, character arcs, etc.) of your manuscript and how effectively they’re working, then write an extensive editorial report - a roadmap for revision - that analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of your manuscript and recommends actions to improve it from the macro to the micro level.
Within the manuscript itself I'll flag inconsistencies, awkward or confusing phrasing, grammatical errors, and line-editing issues as needed or requested.
