Steve Adams, Writing Coach and WriterMy short stories have been published in Glimmer Train, The Missouri Review, Chicago Review, Quarterly West, Georgetown Review, and elsewhere.  My memoir/creative nonfiction has been published in Willow Springs and The Pinch. I’ve written a craft essay that’s been published in Glimmer Train’s Bulletin. Both my fiction and nonfiction have been nominated for Pushcart Prizes, and my creative nonfiction essay, “Touch,” was selected for inclusion in the 2013 Pushcart Prize Anthology

I’ve won Glimmer Train’s Short Story Award for New Writers, The Bronx Writers’ Center “Chapter One” Contest, and been anthologized. I’ve been a guest artist at The University of Texas, a scholar at the Norman Mailer Writers’ Colony, guest lectured at NYU, and judged writing competitions and grant applications. My plays have been produced in New York City and across the country.

I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a BA in Theater and received my MFA in Creative Writing from The New School in New York City. I’ve studied creative nonfiction as a scholar at the Norman Mailer Writer’s Colony and creative coaching with Dr. Eric Maisel. My work has been used as a teaching text at major universities, as well as in the public high schools, and cited in Beyond the Writers’ Workshop: New Ways to Write Creative Nonfiction, by Carol Bly.
